Applying For Grants | The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood
The Ridgewood Woman’s Club is the oldest member of the New Jersey Federation of Woman’s Clubs (NJSFWC ) founded in 1914. NJSFWC is the largest volunteer women’s service organization in the state of New Jersey and a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) an International Organization based out of Washington DC dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
Our mission is to raise money through various fundraising events throughout the year for local organizations that would benefit the most from a charitable donation. Financial need is just one criterion. Another crucial factor considered by our Charity Selection Committee is the type of service you provide and how well you provide it. We particularly take note of services for women and children and commend you for the good and necessary work that you do.
The Woman’s Club caters to a wide variety of events, including social functions (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, children parties, baby showers, anniversary parties), corporate events (training meetings, dinner receptions, team building, workshops.), as well as non-profit events and a recital/performance space. Funds from these rentals help provide the capital for our philanthropic donations.
Please note that all grants and gifts from The Woman’s Club are intended to support the community and those in need. Any acknowledgement should be credited to “The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood”.

The awarding of grants is focused upon those being underprivileged and underserved with regards to health, including mental health; community; homelessness: and education.
The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood only gives grants to nonprofit organizations that have a valid tax-exempt status 
under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as public charities, not “private foundations”, under Sections 509(a)(1) or (2) of the code. Organizations must be in compliance with all mandatory federal and state tax and filing requirements. Grants will not be made to individuals, nor for projects outside the United States of America.
The grants will be from $500 (five hundred) to $5,000 (five thousand) dollars.

Grant applications are accepted through July 1, 2025; grant applications must be submitted by 5pm E.S.T. thereon.

SHARE Inc. (Senior Housing Assoc. of Ridgewood and Environs), based in Ridgewood, provides affordable shared housing for ambulatory and independent senior citizens. Their facilities and services are provided at 2 locations in Ridgewood and are designed to meet the physical, social and psychological needs of seniors.
Center for Hope and Safety The Center for Hope in Safety’s mission is help domestic violence victims in Bergen County and have an anonymous location where Adult and Child victims can be safe and rebuild their lives.
Bergen County CASA C.A.S.A: Court Appointed Special Advocates are appointed by a judge, and their role is to gather information and make recommendations in the best interest of the child, keeping the child’s personal wishes in mind. Sometimes they are the only constant positive factor in a child’s life.
Emmanuel Cancer Foundation The Emmanual Cancer Foundation provides material support such as food, clothing, toys, household items and birthday and holiday gifts, and emergency financial assistance for urgent needs to families with a child cancer patient. ECF’s goal is to help families navigate the complicated world of cancer, preserve their emotional well-being, and relieve their day-to-day burdens.
Youth Consultation Service – The Holley Center, in Hackensack, is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to educating, sheltering, caring for and advocating for children in need. Their Holley Childcare and Development Center is a refuge for children who through no fault of their own have NO other place to call home. The center provides a safe haven for children who have endured abuse and neglect throughout their childhood and as a result suffer deep and emotional distress.
Womans Club Scholarship Trust, founded in 1959, provides scholarships to young women and men who are graduates of Ridgewood High School for study at accredited institutions of higher learning. Many of the scholarship recipients are dealing with issues such as the death or illness of a parent.
Tunnel for Towers The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood will be contributing $11 per month to the Tunnel for Towers Foundation to help continue their mission to “do good,” by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
Ridgewood American Legion Post 53,We continue to support our Local Veteran’s post #53 each year, and generously contributed to their Gold Star Monument that was unveiled in September 2024
