The day a son or daughter becomes a bar mitzvah (for a boy) or bat mitzvah (for a girl) is an important milestone for Jewish parents. And in recent years, it has become the reason for a big celebration with family and friends.

Your Bar Mitzvah is supposed to be an awesome day where you become a man. The celebration must be proportionate to the importance of this event.

PLANNING

This coming-of-age celebration serves as a way of indicating an increase in responsibility, eligibility to publicly form part of Jewish religious practices, and other formal events. After performing a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the young man or woman is deemed a member of the community and is treated as such.
